Between teaching classes at William Jewell College, playing recitals, serving on a KCAGO committee for the 2018 national convention in Kansas City, and working on my oral history project, time seems to fly. I'm pleased that last summer's accomplishments included final edits to my recording project as well as adding four sets of interviews to the history project.
I had a marvelous time playing a recital in January at Central Synagogue in New York City and a program at Pacific Lutheran University in November.
I'm preparing for a recital in Iowa City, a program in Rolla, another recital in Jefferson City, and a presentation this summer at the AGO National Convention in Boston (see details below).
Right at the end of the semester, I'll be playing for a recording project with the William Jewell College Concert Choir. We'll spend 18-19 May at Grace Cathedral in Topeka, Kansas, recording The Trumpet Sounds Within-a My Soul for Centaur Records. This will be the premier recording of works by Anthony Maglione and Ian Coleman.
Also planned for this summer are interviews with several major West Coast organ teachers, made possible by a grant from the San Francisco AGO chapter. I am grateful for their generous support.
The summer also includes one of my favorite activities: teaching at a Pipe Organ Encounter. I'll be teaching at the K-State/Manhattan AGO Chapter POE in Manhattan, Kansas, this July 6-11.
